This policy explains what information Healthy Foundations Naturopathic Clinic collects through this website, healthyfoundations.ca, why we collect it, and the choices you have. It covers the website only. Personal health information you share as a patient is part of your health record and is protected under Ontario’s Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA). Ask us for a copy of how we handle your health record.
What we collect, and why
When you contact us
Our contact form asks for your name, email, phone number and a message, and our talks and workshops form also asks for your organization’s name. We use this only to reply to you. The form is sent to the clinic by email. Please don’t include health details in the form; call us, or bring them to your visit.
When you join our newsletter
The sign-up asks for your name and email. We use them to send our monthly newsletter, and nothing else. Every newsletter has a link to unsubscribe, and you can also ask us to remove you at any time.
When you book
Our booking buttons take you to Jane, the clinic’s online booking and records system, at healthyfoundations.janeapp.com. What you enter there is collected by the clinic through Jane, is part of your health record, and is protected under PHIPA. Jane’s own privacy policy also applies to its service.
When you visit the website
We use Google Analytics to understand how the website is used: the pages visited, the device and browser, the general area a visit comes from (city or region), how a visitor arrived, and when someone clicks to book. This tells us which pages help people find care. Google Analytics uses cookies, and we don’t use it to identify you.
When you arrive from one of our Google ads, Google Ads records the click and whether it led to a click to book or a call, so we can see which ads work. We don’t use what you read on this website, or any health information, to target ads to you.
Like any website, our hosting provider keeps standard server records, such as the address of the device that made a request and when, to keep the site secure and working.
Cookies, and how to control them
Cookies are small files your browser stores. This website uses them for Google Analytics and Google Ads measurement. You can block or delete cookies in your browser’s settings, use Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on, and manage how Google uses your information for ads in your Google account’s ad settings. The website works without these cookies.
Who we share it with
We don’t sell or rent your information. We share it only with the services that run this website and our communications on our behalf: our website host, Google (Analytics and Ads), Jane, and our email and newsletter services. Some of these services store information outside Canada, where it may be subject to the laws of that country.
How long we keep it
We keep messages from our forms for as long as we need them to respond and follow up. We keep newsletter details until you unsubscribe. Google Analytics data is kept for a limited period set in our account, then deleted. Your health record is kept as Ontario law and our regulator require.
Your choices
You can ask to see or correct the personal information we hold about you, or withdraw your consent to our using it, by contacting us below. If you’re not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada about information collected through this website, or the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario about your personal health information.
Children
This website is meant for adults, including parents looking for care for their children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information through the website, contact us and we’ll delete it.
Changes to this policy
We update this policy when how we collect or use information changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
