Brand Guidelines

How Healthy Foundations looks and sounds, in one place: the story, the voice, the words we lead with, the logo, colour and type, and the pieces the website is built from. Everything on this page is taken from the live site, so it always matches it.

The brand

Our story

Healthy Foundations is a Peterborough naturopathic clinic focused entirely on women’s health. It exists for a simple reason: too many women are told their symptoms are “normal,” handed a single fix, and sent home without answers. This clinic was built to take those women seriously, investigate properly, and care for the whole woman across every stage of her life.

Our purpose

Every woman taken seriously and given a real plan across her whole health, so she can feel like herself again.

What we stand for

  • Take her seriously. Listen and investigate thoroughly before drawing conclusions.
  • Medically grounded. Real bloodwork, real plans, evidence over wellness buzzwords.
  • Every life stage. Care for the whole woman, from fertility and pregnancy through perimenopause and menopause, plus children’s and family health.
  • Alongside your doctor. Work with a woman’s medical team, never against it.

Voice

Medically grounded, validating, plain-spoken, and collaborative. The voice stays the same everywhere; only the length and register change by channel.

Medically grounded

Sounds like: “We’ll run a full hormone and thyroid panel and walk you through what it shows.”

Not: “Our natural remedies restore balance.”

Validating

Sounds like: “If you’ve been told this is normal, you’re not imagining it.”

Not: “Doctors don’t care, but we do.”

Plain-spoken

Sounds like: “Perimenopause, bloodwork, a plan.”

Not: “Holistic wellness journey.”

Collaborative

Sounds like: “Care that works alongside your family doctor.”

Not: “The alternative to conventional medicine.”

Two typefaces. Playfair Display carries the headlines and pull quotes; Lato carries everything you read.

You’re not imagining it.

Page titles (h1) and section headings (h2).

Playfair Display · Italic 400

Everything is connected.

Pull quotes.

Lato · 400 and 700

Subheadings (h3 and below), in Lato.

Lead paragraph. Seventy-five to ninety minutes built around being heard, with a thorough investigation started the same day.

Body copy. Full hormone and thyroid bloodwork, then a review where the numbers are explained in plain language: what was tested, what it shows, and what it means for you.

Small print and captions.

Building blocks

The pieces the website is built from, shown live.

Buttons and links

A text link: what to expect at your first visit.

Image shape

The leaf cut: photographs round two opposite corners (top right and bottom left), echoing the leaves in the logo.

Service card

Children’s Health, Breastfeeding + Infant Feeding

Service icons sit in a leaf-shaped white tile with a soft shadow.

Pull quote

We want to be with you every step of your fertility journey.

Inline nudge

One sentence that builds on what the reader just learned, ending in the next step. What to expect

Section grounds

Sections alternate between these grounds; white is the default.

White

The default.

Soft

A quiet tint to separate sections.

Texture

Service overviews.

Photo wash

Page title bands.

Available for a closing call to action.

Brown

The footer.

Motion

Subtle and consistent: content fades in and lifts 12 pixels as it scrolls into view, and grids of cards arrive one after another. Buttons and links ease their colour in over a fifth of a second. Nothing moves for visitors who have asked their device to reduce motion.

Writing rules

What every page, post, and ad follows. Healthy Foundations is a regulated naturopathic practice in Ontario, and some common marketing is off the table.

Style

  • Sentences of 12 to 18 words; break anything over 25.
  • One idea per paragraph, one to three sentences.
  • A grade 8 to 10 reading level; explain a clinical term the first time it appears.
  • Active voice.
  • No exclamation marks and no em dashes.
  • Canadian spelling.

Words we use

  • patients, never clients
  • feel like yourself again
  • taken seriously
  • a thorough investigation, a real plan
  • the plain clinical terms: perimenopause, menopause, PCOS, endometriosis, HRT, bloodwork

What we never do

  • Use testimonials or reviews. Credentials and a clear “what to expect” are the proof.
  • Promise to cure, fix, or guarantee an outcome. We describe the investigation, the plan, and what patients often find.
  • Claim to be “the best,” “the only,” or “#1.” We state our credentials plainly.
  • Set naturopathic care against conventional medicine. It works alongside it.
  • Use wellness euphemism: holistic, root cause, cleanse, detox, miracle.

Credentials, written out

  • MSCP · Menopause Society Certified Practitioner
  • IBCLC · International Board Certified Lactation Consultant
  • ND · Naturopathic Doctor
